The Emperor of All Maladies

This documentary should be a good one to watch. . Ive read a book when I was diagnosed with at that time "curable" cancer and it was an interesting read.

My Blog

My name is Dani and welcome to my blog. In 2011 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I had mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, IVF embryo preservation treatment, genetic testing, lost count of how many needles! I had reconstructive surgery, diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in 2013 with half of the liver eaten by disease had pathological fracture of my spine (due to cancer), further and some failed chemotherapy, blood transfusions, number of scans and again lost count of how may needles I ve had so far !

I had some brilliant consultants, others not so great. Ive changed cities, hospitals, ended my relationship, lost some friends but than again gained some new ones. However my good old friends and family are still standing strong by my side, trying to help best way they know and making me feel "normal" again despite of this horrible disease thats destroying my body.

Now some of you will like me, the others might hate me or not approve of me posting all my private details of my treatment including photos... but I do hope majority of you will benefit from knowing what Ive learnt so far thru my various treatments.

Some names have been changed in this blog (names of my doctors, friends and partner) but the story remains the same. Its never my intention to hurt anyone or discredit anyone in any kind of way Im just simply telling my story in a hope that it will help other cancer sufferers in the similar situation. People living with different types of cancer might benefit from knowing that some emotional issues are still the same as well as range of the emotions we go thru while living with this nasty illness.

This blog at the times might be depressing and sad or even boring but I hope you can take something from it.

Im still living with this nasty cancer illness, don't know for how long but lately Ive been trying to make my life fun, enjoyable and happy with a little things that most people take for granted. Life is grim at the times but its how you decide to live it. Its what you make of it and I ve decided to be content, accept this illness as a part of me and make my life a happy one even thought at the times it feels like its all falling apart
